Their sound hath gone forth into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Epistle to the Galatians, §200 [Gal. 1: 11-19]

Brethren: I certify you, that the gospel which was preached by me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: and profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased God, Who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: neither went I up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Stichos: The heavens shall confess Thy wonders, O Lord, and Thy truth in the congregation of saints.

Stichos: God is glorified in the council of the saints.

At that time, Jesus came into His own country, and taught the people in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astounded, and said: “Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren James, and Joses and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence hath this man all these things?” And they were offended in Him. But Jesus said unto them: “A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.” And He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
