My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

Brethren, such a High Priest became us, Who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for His own sins, and then for the people’s: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, Who is consecrated for evermore. The Lord said to the Jews that came to Him: “I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine. As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. Brethren: I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; and labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. At that time, Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and He found Philip, and said unto him: “Follow me.” Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael, and said unto him: “We have found Him, of Whom Moses in the law, and the prophets did write: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” And Nathanael said unto him: “Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said unto him: “Come and see.” Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him: “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!” Nathanael said unto Him: “Whence knowest Thou me?” Jesus answered and said unto him: “Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.” Nathanael answered and said unto Him: “Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.” Jesus answered and said unto him: “Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou?
