A star of piety hath shone forth from the setting of the visible sun; for Methodius, great among hierarchs, having cut through the darkness of the heretics, hath come to rest in the true East, Christ our God the Sun of righteousness; and, making his abode there with the incorporeal choirs, standing before the throne of the Trinity as one holy, as a martyr, as a hierarch, as a patriarch in deed and appearance, he asketh great mercy for us who with faith celebrate his sacred memory.
