Rejoice, O pure Hodegitria, thou unshakable and animate palace of Christ, the King most high! Rejoice, rejoice, thou through whom our city is preserved undestroyed.

Theotokion: O pure and most immaculate Virgin, thou gavest birth to the good Lord, Who letteth fall a rain of sweetness, the deliverance from evils.

Irmos: Thy Church rejoiceth in Thee, O Christ, crying aloud: Thou art my strength, O Lord, my refuge and my consolation!

Him Whom creation is unable to contain didst thou bodily contain in thy womb which knew not wedlock, O Virgin Hodegitria; wherefore, we chant unto thee: Rejoice!, magnifying thee as is meet.

Glory…, Now & ever…: Theotokion —

O greatly hymned joy of the world, ever joyously hymning thee, we are vouchsafed everlasting joy through thy maternal supplications unto Him Who was born of thee, O pure Hodegitria.

We call upon thee, the golden jar, the lampstand, the staff, the table, O pure one, and we ever offer thee the cry, Rejoice!, while calling thee such things.

We have no other help, we have no other hope than thee, O Mistress. Help us, for we place our trust in thee, and in thee do we boast. For we are thy servants. Let us not be put to shame.

O refuge of the world, wellspring of mercy, fervent entreaty and an insuperable rampart, we earnestly cry out to thee: O Mistress Theotokos: Go thou before us, and deliver us from misfortunes, O thou who alone makest swift intercession.

Glory…, Now & ever…: The foregoing is repeated.

As spiritual clouds, O glorious ones, ye let drop the water of true understanding upon those on earth, for their sanctification.

O all-wise ministers, through the election of the Spirit ye were filled with His grace, and were ordained to serve the needs of the saints.

Let us praise the glorious Parmenus, the wise Timon, the honorable Prochorus and Nicanor of exalted mind.

O apostles of the Lord, ye divine clarions of the truth, precious vessels of piety, ye guides of the lost, who were shown to be saved: Rejoice, and entreat Christ God, asking Him to grant us great mercy.

The one Lord became man, taking flesh in thy womb, and remained God, without being separated from the divine essence, preserving thee, His Virgin Mother, most immaculate after giving birth, as thou wast before birthgiving. Him do Thou earnestly beseech, that He grant us great mercy.

Stavrotheotokion —

The unblemished ewe-lamb of the Word, the incorrupt Virgin Mother, beholding Him Who had sprung forth from her without pain suspended upon the Cross, cried out, lamenting maternally: “Woe is me, O my Child! How is it that Thou sufferest willingly, desiring to deliver man from the indignity of the passions?”
