¶1

Knowing him to be the opponent of day and of peace, you did not deign to love the demon, friend of war.

¶2

When he thought to destroy your inspired courage, O Martyr, the all-evil one became a laughing stock with his devices.

¶3

Grant me enlightenment, All-praised, and peace; abolishing by your prayers tumultuous ignorance.

¶4

We hymn you, Mother of God, as virgin after child-birth, for you bore in the flesh for the world God the Word.
