Isaiah 43

1And now, thus says the Lord God who made you, O Jacob, and who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not, for I redeemed you. I called you by your name, for you are Mine.

καὶ νῦν οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας σε Ιακωβ ὁ πλάσας σε Ισραηλ μὴ φοβοῦ ὅτι ἐλυτρωσάμην σε ἐκάλεσά σε τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐμὸς εἶ σύ

2If you pass through water, I am with you; and the rivers shall not overflow you. If you pass through fire, you shall not be burned up, nor shall the flame consume you.

καὶ ἐὰν διαβαίνῃς δι᾿ ὕδατος μετὰ σοῦ εἰμι καὶ ποταμοὶ οὐ συγκλύσουσίν σε καὶ ἐὰν διέλθῃς διὰ πυρός οὐ μὴ κατακαυθῇς φλὸξ οὐ κατακαύσει σε

3For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, who saves you. I made Egypt and Ethiopia your ransom and gave Seba on your behalf.

ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὁ ἅγιος Ισραηλ ὁ σῴζων σε ἐποίησά σου ἄλλαγμα Αἴγυπτον καὶ Αἰθιοπίαν καὶ Σοήνην ὑπὲρ σοῦ

4Since you were precious in My sight, you became glorious, and I love you. I will give many men for you and rulers to lead you.

ἀφ᾿ οὗ ἔντιμος ἐγένου ἐναντίον μου ἐδοξάσθης κἀγώ σε ἠγάπησα καὶ δώσω ἀνθρώπους πολλοὺς ὑπὲρ σοῦ καὶ ἄρχοντας ὑπὲρ τῆς κεφαλῆς σου

5Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west.

μὴ φοβοῦ ὅτι μετὰ σοῦ εἰμι ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἄξω τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ ἀπὸ δυσμῶν συνάξω σε

6I will say to the north, 'Bring them,' and to the south, 'Do not keep them back. Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone called by My name.'

ἐρῶ τῷ βορρᾷ ἄγε καὶ τῷ λιβί μὴ κώλυε ἄγε τοὺς υἱούς μου ἀπὸ γῆς πόρρωθεν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας μου ἀπ᾿ ἄκρων τῆς γῆς

7For in my glory I prepared him, and formed and made him.

πάντας ὅσοι ἐπικέκληνται τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐν γὰρ τῇ δόξῃ μου κατεσκεύασα αὐτὸν καὶ ἔπλασα καὶ ἐποίησα αὐτόν

8I brought forth the blind people, and their eyes are alike blind, and their ears deaf.'

καὶ ἐξήγαγον λαὸν τυφλόν καὶ ὀφθαλμοί εἰσιν ὡσαύτως τυφλοί καὶ κωφοὶ τὰ ὦτα ἔχοντες

9All the nations are gathered together, and the rulers shall be assembled from among them. Who will declare these things or tell us things from the beginning? Let them bring forth their witnesses, and be proven right; and let them speak the truth.

πάντα τὰ ἔθνη συνήχθησαν ἅμα καὶ συναχθήσονται ἄρχοντες ἐξ αὐτῶν τίς ἀναγγελεῖ ταῦτα ἢ τὰ ἐξ ἀρχῆς τίς ἀναγγελεῖ ὑμῖν ἀγαγέτωσαν τοὺς μάρτυρας αὐτῶν καὶ δικαιωθήτωσαν καὶ εἰπάτωσαν ἀληθῆ

10'You are My witnesses, and I am a witness,' says the Lord God, 'and My Servant whom I chose, that you may know and believe, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no other God, nor shall there be after Me.

γένεσθέ μοι μάρτυρες κἀγὼ μάρτυς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός καὶ ὁ παῖς ὃν ἐξελεξάμην ἵνα γνῶτε καὶ πιστεύσητε καὶ συνῆτε ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι ἔμπροσθέν μου οὐκ ἐγένετο ἄλλος θεὸς καὶ μετ᾿ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔσται

11I am God, and besides Me there is no one who saves.

ἐγὼ ὁ θεός καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν πάρεξ ἐμοῦ σῴζων

12I proclaimed, and I saved. I denounced foreign gods so there were none among you. You are My witnesses, and I am a witness,' says the Lord God.

ἀνήγγειλα καὶ ἔσωσα ὠνείδισα καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐν ὑμῖν ἀλλότριος ὑμεῖς ἐμοὶ μάρτυρες κἀγὼ μάρτυς λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός

13'Even from the beginning, there is no one who can deliver out of My hands; I will work, and who will reverse it?'

ἔτι ἀπ᾿ ἀρχῆς καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν μου ἐξαιρούμενος ποιήσω καὶ τίς ἀποστρέψει αὐτό

14Thus says the Lord God who redeems you, the Holy One of Israel: 'For your sake I will send to Babylon and arouse all who flee, and the Chaldeans shall be bound in ships.

οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ λυτρούμενος ὑμᾶς ὁ ἅγιος Ισραηλ ἕνεκεν ὑμῶν ἀποστελῶ εἰς Βαβυλῶνα καὶ ἐπεγερῶ πάντας φεύγοντας καὶ Χαλδαῖοι ἐν πλοίοις δεθήσονται

15I am the Lord God, your Holy One, who made known your King, O Israel.'

ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἅγιος ὑμῶν ὁ καταδείξας Ισραηλ βασιλέα ὑμῶν

16Thus says the Lord, who makes away in the sea and a path in the mighty water,

οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ διδοὺς ὁδὸν ἐν θαλάσσῃ καὶ ἐν ὕδατι ἰσχυρῷ τρίβον

17who brings forth chariot and horse, and a mighty host. But they fell asleep, and shall not arise. They are extinguished, like a quenched lamp-wick:

ὁ ἐξαγαγὼν ἅρματα καὶ ἵππον καὶ ὄχλον ἰσχυρόν ἀλλὰ ἐκοιμήθησαν καὶ οὐκ ἀναστήσονται ἐσβέσθησαν ὡς λίνον ἐσβεσμένον

18'Do not remember the former things, nor reason about the things of old.

μὴ μνημονεύετε τὰ πρῶτα καὶ τὰ ἀρχαῖα μὴ συλλογίζεσθε

19Behold, I will do new things, which shall now spring forth, and you shall know them; and I will make a road in the desert and rivers in the waterless places.

ἰδοὺ ποιῶ καινὰ ἃ νῦν ἀνατελεῖ καὶ γνώσεσθε αὐτά καὶ ποιήσω ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὁδὸν καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀνύδρῳ ποταμούς

20The wild animals of the field will bless Me, the sirens and the daughters of sparrows, because I gave water in the wilderness and rivers in the waterless place, to give drink to My race, My chosen,

εὐλογήσει με τὰ θηρία τοῦ ἀγροῦ σειρῆνες καὶ θυγατέρες στρουθῶν ὅτι ἔδωκα ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὕδωρ καὶ ποταμοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀνύδρῳ ποτίσαι τὸ γένος μου τὸ ἐκλεκτόν

21My people whom I preserved to declare My virtues.

λαόν μου ὃν περιεποιησάμην τὰς ἀρετάς μου διηγεῖσθαι

22I have not called on you now, O Jacob, neither have I made you grow weary, O Israel.

οὐ νῦν ἐκάλεσά σε Ιακωβ οὐδὲ κοπιᾶσαί σε ἐποίησα Ισραηλ

23You have not brought Me sheep for your whole burnt offerings, neither have you glorified Me with your sacrifices, nor have I wearied you with frankincense.

οὐκ ἐμοὶ πρόβατα τῆς ὁλοκαρπώσεώς σου οὐδὲ ἐν ταῖς θυσίαις σου ἐδόξασάς με οὐδὲ ἔγκοπον ἐποίησά σε ἐν λιβάνῳ

24Neither have you purchased sweet incense for Me with money, nor have I desired the fat of your sacrifices; but I set before you your sins and wrongdoings.

οὐδὲ ἐκτήσω μοι ἀργυρίου θυμίαμα οὐδὲ τὸ στέαρ τῶν θυσιῶν σου ἐπεθύμησα ἀλλὰ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις σου καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἀδικίαις σου προέστην σου

25I, even I, am He who blots out your lawlessness, and I will not remember them.

ἐγώ εἰμι ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἐξαλείφων τὰς ἀνομίας σου καὶ οὐ μὴ μνησθήσομαι

26But remember, and let us judge; tell your lawless first, that you may be made righteous.

σὺ δὲ μνήσθητι καὶ κριθῶμεν λέγε σὺ τὰς ἀνομίας σου πρῶτος ἵνα δικαιωθῇς

27Your fathers first, and their rulers after them, acted lawlessly against Me.

οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν πρῶτοι καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶν ἠνόμησαν εἰς ἐμέ

28Your rulers defiled My holy things; thus I gave Jacob to destruction and Israel for reproach.'

καὶ ἐμίαναν οἱ ἄρχοντες τὰ ἅγιά μου καὶ ἔδωκα ἀπολέσαι Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ εἰς ὀνειδισμόν
