Ezekiel 3

1Then He said to me, 'Son of man, eat this scroll, and go and speak to the children of Israel.'

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου κατάφαγε τὴν κεφαλίδα ταύτην καὶ πορεύθητι καὶ λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ

2So I opened my mouth, and he fed me the scroll.

καὶ διήνοιξα τὸ στόμα μου καὶ ἐψώμισέν με τὴν κεφαλίδα

3Then He said to me, 'Son of man, your mouth shall eat and your stomach will be filled with this scroll that is given you.' So I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου τὸ στόμα σου φάγεται καὶ ἡ κοιλία σου πλησθήσεται τῆς κεφαλίδος ταύτης τῆς δεδομένης εἰς σέ καὶ ἔφαγον αὐτήν καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ στόματί μου ὡς μέλι γλυκάζον

4Then He said to me, 'Son of man, go! Go to the house of Israel, and speak My words to them.

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου βάδιζε εἴσελθε πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ λάλησον τοὺς λόγους μου πρὸς αὐτούς

5For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and obscure language, but to the house of Israel.

διότι οὐ πρὸς λαὸν βαθύχειλον καὶ βαρύγλωσσον σὺ ἐξαποστέλλῃ πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ

6Neither are you sent to many peoples speaking a foreign language or using strange tongues, nor to a people of heavy speech, whose words you would not understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you.

οὐδὲ πρὸς λαοὺς πολλοὺς ἀλλοφώνους ἢ ἀλλογλώσσους οὐδὲ στιβαροὺς τῇ γλώσσῃ ὄντας ὧν οὐκ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους αὐτῶν καὶ εἰ πρὸς τοιούτους ἐξαπέστειλά σε οὗτοι ἂν εἰσήκουσάν σου

7But the house of Israel shall be unwilling to listen to you, because they are unwilling to listen to Me; for all the house of Israel is argumentative and hardhearted.

ὁ δὲ οἶκος τοῦ Ισραηλ οὐ μὴ θελήσωσιν εἰσακοῦσαί σου διότι οὐ βούλονται εἰσακούειν μου ὅτι πᾶς ὁ οἶκος Ισραηλ φιλόνεικοί εἰσιν καὶ σκληροκάρδιοι

8Behold, I have made your face to be strong against their faces, and I will strengthen your case against their arguments.

καὶ ἰδοὺ δέδωκα τὸ πρόσωπόν σου δυνατὸν κατέναντι τῶν προσώπων αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ νεῖκός σου κατισχύσω κατέναντι τοῦ νείκους αὐτῶν

9Your argument shall be continually stronger than a rock. Do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their faces; for they are a house of provocation.'

καὶ ἔσται διὰ παντὸς κραταιότερον πέτρας μὴ φοβηθῇς ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν μηδὲ πτοηθῇς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν

10Again He said to me, 'Son of man, receive into your heart all My words I have spoken to you, and listen with your ears.

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς λελάληκα μετὰ σοῦ λαβὲ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν σου καὶ τοῖς ὠσίν σου ἄκουε

11Go! Go to the captives, to the children of your people, and you shall speak to them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord,' whether they listen or whether they refuse.'

καὶ βάδιζε εἴσελθε εἰς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ λαοῦ σου καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐὰν ἄρα ἀκούσωσιν ἐὰν ἄρα ἐνδῶσιν

12Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: 'Blessed is the glory of the Lord from His place.'

καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με πνεῦμα καὶ ἤκουσα κατόπισθέν μου φωνὴν σεισμοῦ μεγάλου εὐλογημένη ἡ δόξα κυρίου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ

13I also perceived the sound of the wings of the living creatures as they clapped one to the other, and the sound of the wheels nearby, and the sound of the earth quaking.

καὶ εἶδον φωνὴν πτερύγων τῶν ζῴων πτερυσσομένων ἑτέρα πρὸς τὴν ἑτέραν καὶ φωνὴ τῶν τροχῶν ἐχομένη αὐτῶν καὶ φωνὴ τοῦ σεισμοῦ

14Then the Spirit moved me and raised me up, and I went forth under the impulse of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα ἐξῆρέν με καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με καὶ ἐπορεύθην ἐν ὁρμῇ τοῦ πνεύματός μου καὶ χεὶρ κυρίου ἐγένετο ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ κραταιά

15Thus lifted up, I then entered among the captivity and circulated among those who were dwelling by the River Chebar. I sat there for seven days, holding conversation in their midst.

καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν μετέωρος καὶ περιῆλθον τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ τοὺς ὄντας ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐκάθισα ἐκεῖ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἀναστρεφόμενος ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν

16Again it came to pass, after seven days, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὰς ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων

17'Son of man, I made you a watchman for the house of Israel, and you will hear a word from My mouth and shall threaten them from Me:

υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου σκοπὸν δέδωκά σε τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀκούσῃ ἐκ στόματός μου λόγον καὶ διαπειλήσῃ αὐτοῖς παρ᾿ ἐμοῦ

18When I say to the lawless, 'You shall surely die,' and you do not give him explicit warning, nor speak to warn the lawless to turn from his ways so he may live, that lawless man shall die in his unrighteousness; but his blood I will require at your hand.

ἐν τῷ λέγειν με τῷ ἀνόμῳ θανάτῳ θανατωθήσῃ καὶ οὐ διεστείλω αὐτῷ οὐδὲ ἐλάλησας τοῦ διαστείλασθαι τῷ ἀνόμῳ ἀποστρέψαι ἀπὸ τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτοῦ τοῦ ζῆσαι αὐτόν ὁ ἄνομος ἐκεῖνος τῇ ἀδικίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐκ χειρός σου ἐκζητήσω

19However, if you warn the lawless, and he does not turn from his lawlessness, nor from his way, that lawless man shall die in his unrighteousness; but you delivered your soul.

καὶ σὺ ἐὰν διαστείλῃ τῷ ἀνόμῳ καὶ μὴ ἀποστρέψῃ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀνομίας αὐτοῦ καὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἄνομος ἐκεῖνος ἐν τῇ ἀδικίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ σὺ τὴν ψυχήν σου ῥύσῃ

20Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits a transgression, and I put him to the test, he shall die, because you did not give him explicit warning. He shall die in his sins, and his righteous deeds which he did shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand.

καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀποστρέφειν δίκαιον ἀπὸ τῶν δικαιοσυνῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ποιήσῃ παράπτωμα καὶ δώσω τὴν βάσανον εἰς πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς ἀποθανεῖται ὅτι οὐ διεστείλω αὐτῷ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται διότι οὐ μὴ μνησθῶσιν αἱ δικαιοσύναι αὐτοῦ ἃς ἐποίησεν καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῆς χειρός σου ἐκζητήσω

21But if you explicitly warn the righteous man not to sin, and he does not sin, the righteous man shall live, because you explicitly warned him; and you will deliver your own soul.'

σὺ δὲ ἐὰν διαστείλῃ τῷ δικαίῳ τοῦ μὴ ἁμαρτεῖν καὶ αὐτὸς μὴ ἁμάρτῃ ὁ δίκαιος ζωῇ ζήσεται ὅτι διεστείλω αὐτῷ καὶ σὺ τὴν σεαυτοῦ ψυχὴν ῥύσῃ

22Again the hand of the Lord came upon me, and He said to me, 'Arise and go out into the plain, and there you will be spoken to.'

καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἀνάστηθι καὶ ἔξελθε εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ἐκεῖ λαληθήσεται πρὸς σέ

23So I arose and went out into the plain, and behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, just like the vision and just like the glory I saw by the River Chebar; and I fell on my face.

καὶ ἀνέστην καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ δόξα κυρίου εἱστήκει καθὼς ἡ ὅρασις καὶ καθὼς ἡ δόξα ἣν εἶδον ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου

24Then the Spirit came upon me and set me on my feet, and said to me, 'Go inside and shut yourself within your house.

καὶ ἦλθεν ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ πνεῦμα καὶ ἔστησέν με ἐπὶ πόδας μου καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρός με καὶ εἶπέν μοι εἴσελθε καὶ ἐγκλείσθητι ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου σου

25As for you, son of man, behold, chains are appointed for you, and they will put you in them so you cannot go out from their midst.

καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἰδοὺ δέδονται ἐπὶ σὲ δεσμοί καὶ δήσουσίν σε ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐξέλθῃς ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν

26I shall bind your tongue, and you will become deaf. You will not be for them as a man to convict them, for they are a house of provocation.

καὶ τὴν γλῶσσάν σου συνδήσω καὶ ἀποκωφωθήσῃ καὶ οὐκ ἔσῃ αὐτοῖς εἰς ἄνδρα ἐλέγχοντα διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν

27But when I speak with you, I shall open your mouth, and you shall say to them, 'Thus says the Lord.' He who hears, let him hear; and he who disobeys, let him disobey; for it is a house of provocation.

καὶ ἐν τῷ λαλεῖν με πρὸς σὲ ἀνοίξω τὸ στόμα σου καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ ἀκούων ἀκουέτω καὶ ὁ ἀπειθῶν ἀπειθείτω διότι οἶκος παραπικραίνων ἐστίν
