1 Chronicles 25

1David the king and the captains of the hosts appointed the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun to their service, for the purpose of playing the lyre and harp, stringed instruments, and cymbals. The list of ministrants for this service was as follows:

καὶ ἔστησεν Δαυιδ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς δυνάμεως εἰς τὰ ἔργα τοὺς υἱοὺς Ασαφ καὶ Αιμαν καὶ Ιδιθων τοὺς ἀποφθεγγομένους ἐν κινύραις καὶ ἐν νάβλαις καὶ ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν κατὰ κεφαλὴν αὐτῶν ἐργαζομένων ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις αὐτῶν

2of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph the prophet and were loyal to the king.

υἱοὶ Ασαφ Ζακχουρ καὶ Ιωσηφ καὶ Ναθανιας καὶ Εραηλ υἱοὶ Ασαφ ἐχόμενοι Ασαφ τοῦ προφήτου ἐχόμενοι τοῦ βασιλέως

3Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, after their father Jeduthun on the harp, led the music of thanks and praise to the Lord.

τῷ Ιδιθων υἱοὶ Ιδιθων Γοδολια καὶ Σουρι καὶ Ισαια καὶ Σεμεϊ καὶ Ασαβια καὶ Ματταθιας ἕξ μετὰ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν Ιδιθων ἐν κινύρᾳ ἀνακρουόμενοι ἐξομολόγησιν καὶ αἴνεσιν τῷ κυρίῳ

4Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

τῷ Αιμανι υἱοὶ Αιμαν Βουκιας καὶ Μανθανιας καὶ Αζαραηλ καὶ Σουβαηλ καὶ Ιεριμωθ καὶ Ανανιας καὶ Ανανι καὶ Ηλιαθα καὶ Γοδολλαθι καὶ Ρωμεμθι—ωδ καὶ Ιεσβακασα καὶ Μαλληθι καὶ Ωθηρι καὶ Μεαζωθ

5All these were the sons of Heman the king's chief musician in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

πάντες οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῷ Αιμαν τῷ ἀνακρουομένῳ τῷ βασιλεῖ ἐν λόγοις θεοῦ ὑψῶσαι κέρας καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τῷ Αιμαν υἱοὺς δέκα τέσσαρας καὶ θυγατέρας τρεῖς

6All these sang hymns with their father in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, and harps, and lyres for the service of the king and Asaph, and Jeduthun, Heman.

πάντες οὗτοι μετὰ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν ὑμνῳδοῦντες ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐν νάβλαις καὶ ἐν κινύραις ἐχόμενα τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ Ασαφ καὶ Ιδιθων καὶ Αιμανι

7And the number of them with their brethren, those being instructed to sing to the Lord, everyone who was skilled in singing, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν μετὰ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν δεδιδαγμένοι ᾄδειν κυρίῳ πᾶς συνίων διακόσιοι ὀγδοήκοντα καὶ ὀκτώ

8And they cast lots for their duty, the small as well as the great, those taught and the students.

καὶ ἔβαλον καὶ αὐτοὶ κλήρους ἐφημεριῶν κατὰ τὸν μικρὸν καὶ κατὰ τὸν μέγαν τελείων καὶ μανθανόντων

9Now the first lot for Asaph of his sons and his brethren came out for Joseph; the second for Gedaliah by Iniah, his brethren and his sons, twelve;

καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ πρῶτος υἱῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ τῷ Ασαφ τῷ Ιωσηφ Γοδολια ὁ δεύτερος Ηνια ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

10the third for Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ τρίτος Ζακχουρ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

11the fourth for Jizri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ τέταρτος Ιεσδρι υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

12the fifth for Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ πέμπτος Ναθανιας υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

13the sixth for Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἕκτος Βουκιας υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

14the seventh for Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἕβδομος Ισεριηλ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

15the eighth for Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ὄγδοος Ιωσια υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

16the ninth for Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἔνατος Μανθανιας υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

17the tenth for Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ δέκατος Σεμεϊ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

18the eleventh for Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἑνδέκατος Αζαρια υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

19the twelfth for Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ δωδέκατος Ασαβια υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

20the thirteenth for Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ τρισκαιδέκατος Σουβαηλ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

21the fourteenth for Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ τεσσαρεσκαιδέκατος Ματταθιας υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

22the fifteenth for Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ πεντεκαιδέκατος Ιεριμωθ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

23the sixteenth for Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἑκκαιδέκατος Ανανιας υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

24the seventeenth for Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἑπτακαιδέκατος Ιεσβακασα υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

25the eighteenth for Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ὀκτωκαιδέκατος Ανανι υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

26the nineteenth for Mallothi, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ ἐννεακαιδέκατος Μελληθι υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

27the twentieth for Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ εἰκοστὸς Ελιαθα υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

28the twenty-first for Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ εἰκοστὸς πρῶτος Ηθιρ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

29the twenty-second for Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ εἰκοστὸς δεύτερος Γοδολλαθι υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

30the twenty-third for Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

ὁ τρίτος καὶ εἰκοστὸς Μεαζωθ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο

31the twenty-fourth for Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his brethren, twelve.

ὁ τέταρτος καὶ εἰκοστὸς Ρωμεμθι—ωδ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα δύο
