1 Chronicles 16
1So they brought in the ark of God and set it in the midst of the tent David had pitched for it. They offered up whole burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

4And he appointed Levites to minister before the presence of the ark of the Lord, to exclaim and give thanks and to praise the Lord God of Israel:

5Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom; Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals;

6Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests, continually before the ark of the covenant of God with trumpets.

7Then David by the hand of Asaph and his brethren gave orders to praise the Lord:

8Give praise to the Lord Himself! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.

9Sing songs to Him, sing praises to Him; Tell of all His wondrous works which the Lord has done.

10Praise His holy name; The heart that seeks to do His pleasure shall rejoice.

11Seek the Lord and be strong; On account of all things, seek His face.

12Remember His remarkable works which He has done, His wonders and the judgments of His mouth,

13O seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones.

14He is the Lord our Lord; His judgments are over all the earth.

15Let us remember His covenant unto the ages, The word He commands for a thousand generations—

16The covenant He made with Abraham And His oath to Isaac;

17He confirmed it to Jacob for an ordinance, To Israel for an eternal covenant,

19When they were few in number, When they were small in stature and dwelt as sojourners in it,

20And when they went from nation to nation And from one kingdom to another people,

21He allowed no man to rule over them, And He reproved kings for their sakes,

22Saying, 'Do not touch My anointed ones, And bring no harm to My prophets.'

23Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim His salvation from day to day.

24For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.

25For all the gods of the Gentiles are idols, But our God made the heavens.

26Glory and praise are before Him; Strength and rejoicing are in His place.

27Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength.

28Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Take gifts and offer them before His presence. Oh, worship the Lord in His holy courts!

29Let all the earth fear because of His presence; Let the earth be set upright And not be moved.

30Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, 'The Lord reigns.'

31Let the sea roar and all its fullness, And the trees of the forest and all that is in them.

32For the trees of the forest shall rejoice before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth.

36All the people said, 'Amen.' And they praised the Lord. And they left Asaph and his brothers there, before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to minister continually from day to day according to the service of each day.

37And Obed-Edom and his brothers were sixty-eight; Obed-Edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah were gatekeepers;

38Zadok the priest and the brethren of the priests stood before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place in Gibeon,

39to offer whole burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of whole burnt offering every morning and evening; and to do according to all things written in the Law of the Lord that He commanded the sons of Israel by the hand of Moses the servant of God.

40And with him were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest chosen out by name to give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy is forever;

41and with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

42Then all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.
