Leviticus 18

1Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων

2'Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, 'I am the Lord your God.

λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν

3According to the way of life in the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the way of life in the land of Canaan, where I bring you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances.

κατὰ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐν ᾗ κατῳκήσατε ἐπ᾿ αὐτῇ οὐ ποιήσετε καὶ κατὰ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα γῆς Χανααν εἰς ἣν ἐγὼ εἰσάγω ὑμᾶς ἐκεῖ οὐ ποιήσετε καὶ τοῖς νομίμοις αὐτῶν οὐ πορεύσεσθε

4You shall do My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.

τὰ κρίματά μου ποιήσετε καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου φυλάξεσθε πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν

5You shall therefore keep all My ordinances and My judgments, and do these, which if a man does, he shall live by them; I am the Lord your God.

καὶ φυλάξεσθε πάντα τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ πάντα τὰ κρίματά μου καὶ ποιήσετε αὐτά ἃ ποιήσας ἄνθρωπος ζήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν

6None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the Lord.

ἄνθρωπος ἄνθρωπος πρὸς πάντα οἰκεῖα σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ οὐ προσελεύσεται ἀποκαλύψαι ἀσχημοσύνην ἐγὼ κύριος

7The nakedness of your father or mother you shall not uncover. She is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην πατρός σου καὶ ἀσχημοσύνην μητρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις μήτηρ γάρ σού ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς

8The nakedness of your father's wife you shall not uncover; it is your father's nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην γυναικὸς πατρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις ἀσχημοσύνη πατρός σού ἐστιν

9The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or elsewhere, her nakedness you shall not uncover.

ἀσχημοσύνην τῆς ἀδελφῆς σου ἐκ πατρός σου ἢ ἐκ μητρός σου ἐνδογενοῦς ἢ γεγεννημένης ἔξω οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς

10The nakedness of your son's daughter, or your daughter's daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs is your own nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην θυγατρὸς υἱοῦ σου ἢ θυγατρὸς θυγατρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῶν ὅτι σὴ ἀσχημοσύνη ἐστίν

11The nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, begotten by your father—she is your sister—you shall not uncover her nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην θυγατρὸς γυναικὸς πατρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις ὁμοπατρία ἀδελφή σού ἐστιν οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς

12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is near of kin to your father.

ἀσχημοσύνην ἀδελφῆς πατρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις οἰκεία γὰρ πατρός σού ἐστιν

13You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is near of kin to your mother.

ἀσχημοσύνην ἀδελφῆς μητρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις οἰκεία γὰρ μητρός σού ἐστιν

14You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, and approach his wife; she is your aunt.

ἀσχημοσύνην ἀδελφοῦ τοῦ πατρός σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις καὶ πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ οὐκ εἰσελεύσῃ συγγενὴς γάρ σού ἐστιν

15You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law—she is your son's wife—you shall not uncover her nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην νύμφης σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις γυνὴ γὰρ υἱοῦ σού ἐστιν οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς

16You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife; it is your brother's nakedness.

ἀσχημοσύνην γυναικὸς ἀδελφοῦ σου οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις ἀσχημοσύνη ἀδελφοῦ σού ἐστιν

17You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover their nakedness. They are near of kin to her. It is impious.

ἀσχημοσύνην γυναικὸς καὶ θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς οὐκ ἀποκαλύψεις τὴν θυγατέρα τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτῆς καὶ τὴν θυγατέρα τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς οὐ λήμψῃ ἀποκαλύψαι τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῶν οἰκεῖαι γάρ σού εἰσιν ἀσέβημά ἐστιν

18Nor shall you take a woman as a rival to her sister, to uncover her nakedness while the other is alive.

γυναῖκα ἐπὶ ἀδελφῇ αὐτῆς οὐ λήμψῃ ἀντίζηλον ἀποκαλύψαι τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς ἐπ᾿ αὐτῇ ἔτι ζώσης αὐτῆς

19'Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her menstrual period of uncleanness.

καὶ πρὸς γυναῖκα ἐν χωρισμῷ ἀκαθαρσίας αὐτῆς οὐ προσελεύσῃ ἀποκαλύψαι τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτῆς

20Moreover, you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her.

καὶ πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον σου οὐ δώσεις κοίτην σπέρματός σου ἐκμιανθῆναι πρὸς αὐτήν

21Furthermore, you shall not give your offspring to worship a ruler, nor shall you defile My holy name: I am the Lord.

καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ σπέρματός σου οὐ δώσεις λατρεύειν ἄρχοντι καὶ οὐ βεβηλώσεις τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον ἐγὼ κύριος

22You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

καὶ μετὰ ἄρσενος οὐ κοιμηθήσῃ κοίτην γυναικός βδέλυγμα γάρ ἐστιν

23Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.

καὶ πρὸς πᾶν τετράπουν οὐ δώσεις τὴν κοίτην σου εἰς σπερματισμὸν ἐκμιανθῆναι πρὸς αὐτό καὶ γυνὴ οὐ στήσεται πρὸς πᾶν τετράπουν βιβασθῆναι μυσερὸν γάρ ἐστιν

24'Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these ways of life the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before your face.

μὴ μιαίνεσθε ἐν πᾶσιν τούτοις ἐν πᾶσι γὰρ τούτοις ἐμιάνθησαν τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἐγὼ ἐξαποστέλλω πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν

25For the land is defiled, and on its account I am repaying them for their wrongdoing. Thus the land became vexed with those dwelling upon it.

καὶ ἐμιάνθη ἡ γῆ καὶ ἀνταπέδωκα ἀδικίαν αὐτοῖς δι᾿ αὐτήν καὶ προσώχθισεν ἡ γῆ τοῖς ἐγκαθημένοις ἐπ᾿ αὐτῆς

26You shall therefore keep all My ordinances and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any resident alien who dwells among you

καὶ φυλάξεσθε πάντα τὰ νόμιμά μου καὶ πάντα τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ οὐ ποιήσετε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν βδελυγμάτων τούτων ὁ ἐγχώριος καὶ ὁ προσγενόμενος προσήλυτος ἐν ὑμῖν

27(for the men of the land before you did all these abominations, and thus the land was defiled),

πάντα γὰρ τὰ βδελύγματα ταῦτα ἐποίησαν οἱ ἄνθρωποι τῆς γῆς οἱ ὄντες πρότεροι ὑμῶν καὶ ἐμιάνθη ἡ γῆ

28that the land not be vexed with you in your defilement of it, as it was vexed with the nations before you.

καὶ ἵνα μὴ προσοχθίσῃ ὑμῖν ἡ γῆ ἐν τῷ μιαίνειν ὑμᾶς αὐτήν ὃν τρόπον προσώχθισεν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τοῖς πρὸ ὑμῶν

29For whoever does any of these abominations, these souls shall be utterly destroyed from among their people.

ὅτι πᾶς ὃς ἂν ποιήσῃ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν βδελυγμάτων τούτων ἐξολεθρευθήσονται αἱ ψυχαὶ αἱ ποιοῦσαι ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτῶν

30Therefore, you shall keep My ordinances, so as not to do any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and not to defile yourselves by them; for I am the Lord your God.' '

καὶ φυλάξετε τὰ προστάγματά μου ὅπως μὴ ποιήσητε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν νομίμων τῶν ἐβδελυγμένων ἃ γέγονεν πρὸ τοῦ ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μιανθήσεσθε ἐν αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν
