1In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Uzziah the son of Amaziah king of Judah became king.

ἐν ἔτει εἰκοστῷ καὶ ἑβδόμῳ τῷ Ιεροβοαμ βασιλεῖ Ισραηλ ἐβασίλευσεν Αζαριας υἱὸς Αμεσσιου βασιλέως Ιουδα

2He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he ruled for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

υἱὸς ἑκκαίδεκα ἐτῶν ἦν ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ πεντήκοντα καὶ δύο ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ Χαλια ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ

3And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to everything his father Amaziah had done,

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν Αμεσσιας ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ

4except that he did not remove any of the high places. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

πλὴν τῶν ὑψηλῶν οὐκ ἐξῆρεν ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς

5Then the Lord touched the king, and he was a leper to the day of his death. He reigned in a house isolated from all others. Concerning matters of the household, Jotham the son of the king judged the people of Israel.

καὶ ἥψατο κύριος τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἦν λελεπρωμένος ἕως ἡμέρας θανάτου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν οἴκῳ αφφουσωθ καὶ Ιωαθαμ υἱὸς τοῦ βασιλέως ἐπὶ τῷ οἴκῳ κρίνων τὸν λαὸν τῆς γῆς

6Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah and everything he did, are these not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Αζαριου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίου λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ιουδα

7So Uzziah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David. Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.

καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Αζαριας μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωαθαμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ

8In the thirty-eighth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam ruled over Israel in Samaria for six months.

ἐν ἔτει τριακοστῷ καὶ ὀγδόῳ τῷ Αζαρια βασιλεῖ Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Ζαχαριας υἱὸς Ιεροβοαμ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ ἑξάμηνον

9And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who led Israel to sin.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου καθὰ ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ ἁμαρτιῶν Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ

10Then Shallum, the son of Jabesh, and Keblaam conspired against him. They struck and killed him, and Shallum ruled in his place.

καὶ συνεστράφησαν ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸν Σελλουμ υἱὸς Ιαβις καὶ Κεβλααμ καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐθανάτωσαν αὐτόν καὶ Σελλουμ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ

11Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, indeed they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ζαχαριου ἰδού ἐστιν γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ

12This was the word of the Lord which He spoke to Jehu saying, 'Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.' And so it was.

ὁ λόγος κυρίου ὃν ἐλάλησεν πρὸς Ιου λέγων υἱοὶ τέταρτοι καθήσονταί σοι ἐπὶ θρόνου Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγένετο οὕτως

13Shallum the son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah. And Shallum ruled for a month in Samaria.

καὶ Σελλουμ υἱὸς Ιαβις ἐβασίλευσεν καὶ ἐν ἔτει τριακοστῷ καὶ ἐνάτῳ Αζαρια βασιλεῖ Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Σελλουμ μῆνα ἡμερῶν ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ

14For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria. He struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria and killed him.

καὶ ἀνέβη Μαναημ υἱὸς Γαδδι ἐκ Θαρσιλα καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Σελλουμ υἱὸν Ιαβις ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτόν

15Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and the conspiracy he led, indeed they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Σελλουμ καὶ ἡ συστροφὴ αὐτοῦ ἣν συνεστράφη ἰδού εἰσιν γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ

16Then Menahem attacked Tirzah, all who were there, and the extended area of Tirzah, because they did not open their gates to him. There he ripped open all the women who were with child.

τότε ἐπάταξεν Μαναημ τὴν Θερσα καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῆς ἀπὸ Θερσα ὅτι οὐκ ἤνοιξαν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν καὶ τὰς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας ἀνέρρηξεν

17In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi became king over Israel and ruled for ten years in Samaria.

ἐν ἔτει τριακοστῷ καὶ ἐνάτῳ Αζαρια βασιλεῖ Ιουδα καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Μαναημ υἱὸς Γαδδι ἐπὶ Ισραηλ δέκα ἔτη ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ

18And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ πασῶν ἁμαρτιῶν Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ

19In his days, Pul king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, so his hand would be with him.

ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἀνέβη Φουλ βασιλεὺς Ἀσσυρίων ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ Μαναημ ἔδωκεν τῷ Φουλ χίλια τάλαντα ἀργυρίου εἶναι τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ μετ᾿ αὐτοῦ

20This money Menahem exacted from Israel, fifty shekels of silver each from all the very wealthy, as tribute to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and he did not remain in the land.

καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν Μαναημ τὸ ἀργύριον ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ ἐπὶ πᾶν δυνατὸν ἰσχύι δοῦναι τῷ βασιλεῖ τῶν Ἀσσυρίων πεντήκοντα σίκλους τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ἑνί καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν βασιλεὺς Ἀσσυρίων καὶ οὐκ ἔστη ἐκεῖ ἐν τῇ γῇ

21Now the rest of the acts of Menahem and everything he did, are these not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Μαναημ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ

22So Menahem rested with his fathers. Then Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Μαναημ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Φακεϊας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ

23In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria and ruled for two years.

ἐν ἔτει πεντηκοστῷ τοῦ Αζαριου βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Φακεϊας υἱὸς Μαναημ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ δύο ἔτη

24And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ ἁμαρτιῶν Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ

25Then Pekah the son of Remaliah his officer, along with Argob and Arieh, conspired against him and attacked him in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's house. With him were fifty men of the four hundred. Pekah killed him and became king in his place.

καὶ συνεστράφη ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸν Φακεε υἱὸς Ρομελιου ὁ τριστάτης αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ ἐναντίον οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως μετὰ τοῦ Αργοβ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ Αρια καὶ μετ᾿ αὐτοῦ πεντήκοντα ἄνδρες ἀπὸ τῶν τετρακοσίων καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ

26Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah and everything he did are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Φακεϊου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν ἰδού εἰσιν γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ

27In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria and ruled for twenty years.

ἐν ἔτει πεντηκοστῷ καὶ δευτέρῳ τοῦ Αζαριου βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Φακεε υἱὸς Ρομελιου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ εἴκοσι ἔτη

28He did evil in the eyes of the Lord and did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who led Israel to sin.

29In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel Beth Maachah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, the entire land of Naphtali. He exiled the people to Assyria.

ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Φακεε βασιλέως Ισραηλ ἦλθεν Θαγλαθφελλασαρ βασιλεὺς Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Αιν καὶ τὴν Αβελβαιθαμααχα καὶ τὴν Ιανωχ καὶ τὴν Κενεζ καὶ τὴν Ασωρ καὶ τὴν Γαλααδ καὶ τὴν Γαλιλαίαν πᾶσαν γῆν Νεφθαλι καὶ ἀπῴκισεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Ἀσσυρίους

30Then Hoshea the son of Elah led a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck and killed him. He became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

καὶ συνέστρεψεν σύστρεμμα Ωσηε υἱὸς Ηλα ἐπὶ Φακεε υἱὸν Ρομελιου καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ ἐν ἔτει εἰκοστῷ Ιωαθαμ υἱοῦ Αζαριου

31Now the rest of the acts of Pekah and everything he did are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Φακεε καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν ἰδού ἐστιν γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ

32In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah became king of Judah.

ἐν ἔτει δευτέρῳ Φακεε υἱοῦ Ρομελιου βασιλέως Ισραηλ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωαθαμ υἱὸς Αζαριου βασιλέως Ιουδα

33He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he ruled for sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν ἦν ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ ἑκκαίδεκα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Ιερουσα θυγάτηρ Σαδωκ

34And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, according to everything his father Uzziah had done.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν Οζιας ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ

35However, he did not remove the high places. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the Lord.

πλὴν τὰ ὑψηλὰ οὐκ ἐξῆρεν ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμία ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν πύλην οἴκου κυρίου τὴν ἐπάνω

36Now the rest of the acts of Jotham and everything he did, are these not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιωαθαμ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ιουδα

37In those days the Lord began to send Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah.

ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἤρξατο κύριος ἐξαποστέλλειν ἐν Ιουδα τὸν Ραασσων βασιλέα Συρίας καὶ τὸν Φακεε υἱὸν Ρομελιου

38So Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David, his father. Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωαθαμ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αχαζ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾿ αὐτοῦ
