2 Chronicles 3

1Now Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

καὶ ἤρξατο Σαλωμων τοῦ οἰκοδομεῖν τὸν οἶκον κυρίου ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν ὄρει τοῦ Αμορια οὗ ὤφθη κύριος τῷ Δαυιδ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ ἐν ἅλῳ Ορνα τοῦ Ιεβουσαίου

2And he began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

καὶ ἤρξατο οἰκοδομῆσαι ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ δευτέρῳ ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ τετάρτῳ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ

3This is the foundation Solomon laid for building the house of God. It was sixty cubits long (according to the former measure) and twenty cubits wide.

καὶ ταῦτα ἤρξατο Σαλωμων τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ μῆκος πήχεων ἡ διαμέτρησις ἡ πρώτη πήχεων ἑξήκοντα καὶ εὖρος πήχεων εἴκοσι

4The vestibule in front of the sanctuary was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and one hundred twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

καὶ αιλαμ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ οἴκου μῆκος ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πλάτους τοῦ οἴκου πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ ὕψος πήχεων ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι καὶ κατεχρύσωσεν αὐτὸν ἔσωθεν χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ

5He paneled the larger room with cypress and overlaid it with fine gold, and he carved palm trees and chain work on it.

καὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν μέγαν ἐξύλωσεν ξύλοις κεδρίνοις καὶ κατεχρύσωσεν χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ καὶ ἔγλυψεν ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ φοίνικας καὶ χαλαστά

6He decorated the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.

καὶ ἐκόσμησεν τὸν οἶκον λίθοις τιμίοις εἰς δόξαν καὶ χρυσίῳ χρυσίου τοῦ ἐκ Φαρουαιμ

7He also overlaid the house—the beams and doorposts, its walls and doors—with gold and carved cherubim on the walls.

καὶ ἐχρύσωσεν τὸν οἶκον καὶ τοὺς τοίχους καὶ τοὺς πυλῶνας καὶ τὰ ὀροφώματα καὶ τὰ θυρώματα χρυσίῳ καὶ ἔγλυψεν χερουβιν ἐπὶ τῶν τοίχων

8And he made the most holy place. Its length corresponded to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and it was twenty cubits wide. He overlaid it as far as the cherubim with six hundred talents of fine gold.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ἁγίου τῶν ἁγίων μῆκος αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πλάτους πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ τὸ εὖρος πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ κατεχρύσωσεν αὐτὸν χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ εἰς χερουβιν εἰς τάλαντα ἑξακόσια

9The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid the upper room with gold.

καὶ ὁλκὴ τῶν ἥλων ὁλκὴ τοῦ ἑνὸς πεντήκοντα σίκλοι χρυσίου καὶ τὸ ὑπερῷον ἐχρύσωσεν χρυσίῳ

10In the most holy place he made two wooden cherubim and overlaid them with gold.

καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τῷ ἁγίῳ τῶν ἁγίων χερουβιν δύο ἔργον ἐκ ξύλων καὶ ἐχρύσωσεν αὐτὰ χρυσίῳ

11The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in overall length. One wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub

καὶ αἱ πτέρυγες τῶν χερουβιν τὸ μῆκος πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ ἡ πτέρυξ ἡ μία πήχεων πέντε ἁπτομένη τοῦ τοίχου τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἡ πτέρυξ ἡ ἑτέρα πήχεων πέντε ἁπτομένη τῆς πτέρυγος τοῦ χερουβ τοῦ ἑτέρου

12one wing of the other cherub was five cubits as well, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

καὶ ἡ πτέρυξ τοῦ χερουβ τοῦ ἑνὸς πήχεων πέντε ἁπτομένη τοῦ τοίχου τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἡ πτέρυξ ἡ ἑτέρα πήχεων πέντε ἁπτομένη τοῦ πτέρυγος τοῦ χερουβ τοῦ ἑτέρου

13The wings of these cherubim spanned twenty cubits overall. They stood on their feet and faced inward.

καὶ αἱ πτέρυγες τῶν χερουβιν διαπεπετασμέναι πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ αὐτὰ ἑστηκότα ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν οἶκον

14He made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it.

καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ καταπέτασμα ἐξ ὑακίνθου καὶ πορφύρας καὶ κοκκίνου καὶ βύσσου καὶ ὕφανεν ἐν αὐτῷ χερουβιν

15In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and the capital on the top of each was five cubits.

καὶ ἐποίησεν ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ οἴκου στύλους δύο πήχεων τριάκοντα πέντε τὸ ὕψος καὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν πήχεων πέντε

16He made wreaths of chain work, as in the inner sanctuary, and put them on top of the pillars. And he made one hundred pomegranates and put them on the wreaths of chain work.

καὶ ἐποίησεν σερσερωθ ἐν τῷ δαβιρ καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπὶ τῶν κεφαλῶν τῶν στύλων καὶ ἐποίησεν ῥοΐσκους ἑκατὸν καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τῶν χαλαστῶν

17Then he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left. He called the one on the right hand Upholding, and he called the one on the left Strength.

καὶ ἔστησεν τοὺς στύλους κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ ναοῦ ἕνα ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ τὸν ἕνα ἐξ εὐωνύμων καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ἐκ δεξιῶν Κατόρθωσις καὶ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν Ἰσχύς
