Deuteronomy 33

1Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

καὶ αὕτη ἡ εὐλογία ἣν εὐλόγησεν Μωυσῆς ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ πρὸ τῆς τελευτῆς αὐτοῦ

2Thus he said: 'The Lord came down from Sinai And appeared to us from Seir; He hastened from Mount Paran Along with myriads at Kadesh, angels with Him at His right hand;

καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ἐκ Σινα ἥκει καὶ ἐπέφανεν ἐκ Σηιρ ἡμῖν καὶ κατέσπευσεν ἐξ ὄρους Φαραν σὺν μυριάσιν Καδης ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ ἄγγελοι μετ᾿ αὐτοῦ

3And He spared His people And all the sanctified ones under Your hands; And these are under You, And received the law from His words

καὶ ἐφείσατο τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγιασμένοι ὑπὸ τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ οὗτοι ὑπὸ σέ εἰσιν καὶ ἐδέξατο ἀπὸ τῶν λόγων αὐτοῦ

4Which Moses commanded us, A heritage of the congregations of Jacob.

νόμον ὃν ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν Μωυσῆς κληρονομίαν συναγωγαῖς Ιακωβ

5And there shall be a Ruler among the beloved people When the rulers of the people are gathered, Together with the tribes of Israel.

καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ ἠγαπημένῳ ἄρχων συναχθέντων ἀρχόντων λαῶν ἅμα φυλαῖς Ισραηλ

6'Let Reuben live, and not die, And let him be many in number.'

ζήτω Ρουβην καὶ μὴ ἀποθανέτω καὶ ἔστω πολὺς ἐν ἀριθμῷ

7'Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, And let him visit his people; His hands will judge for him, And may You be a help against his enemies.'

καὶ αὕτη Ιουδα εἰσάκουσον κύριε φωνῆς Ιουδα καὶ εἰς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ εἰσέλθοισαν αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ διακρινοῦσιν αὐτῷ καὶ βοηθὸς ἐκ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτοῦ ἔσῃ

8'Give to Levi, to the holy man, his Urim and Thummim, Him whom they tested with testing, Whom they reviled at the Water of Contention,

καὶ τῷ Λευι εἶπεν δότε Λευι δήλους αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀλήθειαν αὐτοῦ τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ὁσίῳ ὃν ἐπείρασαν αὐτὸν ἐν πείρᾳ ἐλοιδόρησαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ ὕδατος ἀντιλογίας

9Who says to his father and mother, 'I have not seen you'; Nor did he know his brothers or his own children; They guarded Your oracles And kept Your covenant.

ὁ λέγων τῷ πατρὶ καὶ τῇ μητρί οὐχ ἑόρακά σε καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐπέγνω καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ ἀπέγνω ἐφύλαξεν τὰ λόγιά σου καὶ τὴν διαθήκην σου διετήρησεν

10They shall manifest Your judgments to Jacob And Your law to Israel. They shall lay incense when You are angry Continually on Your altar.

δηλώσουσιν τὰ δικαιώματά σου τῷ Ιακωβ καὶ τὸν νόμον σου τῷ Ισραηλ ἐπιθήσουσιν θυμίαμα ἐν ὀργῇ σου διὰ παντὸς ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριόν σου

11Bless his strength, O Lord, And accept the works of his hands; Bring down the loins of those who rise against him And of those who hate him, so they rise not again."

εὐλόγησον κύριε τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ δέξαι κάταξον ὀσφὺν ἐχθρῶν ἐπανεστηκότων αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μισοῦντες αὐτὸν μὴ ἀναστήτωσαν

12'Beloved by the Lord, he shall dwell in hope, And God shall overshadow him all his days; And he rested between his shoulders.'

καὶ τῷ Βενιαμιν εἶπεν ἠγαπημένος ὑπὸ κυρίου κατασκηνώσει πεποιθώς καὶ ὁ θεὸς σκιάζει ἐπ᾿ αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὤμων αὐτοῦ κατέπαυσεν

13'Blessed of the Lord is his land, Of the seasons of heaven, of the dew And of the deep springs lying beneath,

καὶ τῷ Ιωσηφ εἶπεν ἀπ᾿ εὐλογίας κυρίου ἡ γῆ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ ὡρῶν οὐρανοῦ καὶ δρόσου καὶ ἀπὸ ἀβύσσων πηγῶν κάτωθεν

14And in due season of the produce of the solar cycle And of the conjunction of the months,

καὶ καθ᾿ ὥραν γενημάτων ἡλίου τροπῶν καὶ ἀπὸ συνόδων μηνῶν

15Both from the top of the ancient mountains And from the top of the everlasting hills;

καὶ ἀπὸ κορυφῆς ὀρέων ἀρχῆς καὶ ἀπὸ κορυφῆς βουνῶν ἀενάων

16And in due season of the fullness of the land And the things acceptable to the One revealed in the Bush. May these things come 'upon the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the one glorified among his brothers.'

καὶ καθ᾿ ὥραν γῆς πληρώσεως καὶ τὰ δεκτὰ τῷ ὀφθέντι ἐν τῷ βάτῳ ἔλθοισαν ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἐπὶ κορυφῆς δοξασθεὶς ἐν ἀδελφοῖς

17His beauty is like the firstborn of a bull And his horns like the horns of the unicorn; With them He will gore nations together Even to the ends of the earth. They are the ten thousands of Ephraim, And they are the thousands of Manasseh.'

πρωτότοκος ταύρου τὸ κάλλος αὐτοῦ κέρατα μονοκέρωτος τὰ κέρατα αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτοῖς ἔθνη κερατιεῖ ἅμα ἕως ἐπ᾿ ἄκρου γῆς αὗται μυριάδες Εφραιμ καὶ αὗται χιλιάδες Μανασση

18'Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, And Issachar in his tents.

καὶ τῷ Ζαβουλων εἶπεν εὐφράνθητι Ζαβουλων ἐν ἐξοδίᾳ σου καί Ισσαχαρ ἐν τοῖς σκηνώμασιν αὐτοῦ

19They shall annihilate nations, And there you will call upon the Lord And sacrifice a sacrifice of righteousness, For the wealth of the sea shall suckle you, And the trade of those dwelling by the sea.'

ἔθνη ἐξολεθρεύσουσιν καὶ ἐπικαλέσεσθε ἐκεῖ καὶ θύσετε θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης ὅτι πλοῦτος θαλάσσης θηλάσει σε καὶ ἐμπόρια παράλιον κατοικούντων

20'Blessed is He who enlarges Gad; He rested as a lion And crushed the arm and the head.

καὶ τῷ Γαδ εἶπεν εὐλογημένος ἐμπλατύνων Γαδ ὡς λέων ἀνεπαύσατο συντρίψας βραχίονα καὶ ἄρχοντα

21He saw his firstfruit, Because the land of the rulers was apportioned there, When the rulers were gathered together With the rulers of the people. The Lord administered righteousness And His judgments with Israel.'

καὶ εἶδεν ἀπαρχὴν αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐκεῖ ἐμερίσθη γῆ ἀρχόντων συνηγμένων ἅμα ἀρχηγοῖς λαῶν δικαιοσύνην κύριος ἐποίησεν καὶ κρίσιν αὐτοῦ μετὰ Ισραηλ

22'Dan is a lion's cub, And he shall leap from Bashan.'

καὶ τῷ Δαν εἶπεν Δαν σκύμνος λέοντος καὶ ἐκπηδήσεται ἐκ τοῦ Βασαν

23'Naphtali has an abundance of acceptable things, And let him be full of blessing from the Lord. He shall inherit the sea and the south.'

καὶ τῷ Νεφθαλι εἶπεν Νεφθαλι πλησμονὴ δεκτῶν καὶ ἐμπλησθήτω εὐλογίαν παρὰ κυρίου θάλασσαν καὶ λίβα κληρονομήσει

24'Blessed is Asher beyond sons, And let him be acceptable to his brothers. He shall dip his foot in olive oil.

καὶ τῷ Ασηρ εἶπεν εὐλογητὸς ἀπὸ τέκνων Ασηρ καὶ ἔσται δεκτὸς τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ βάψει ἐν ἐλαίῳ τὸν πόδα αὐτοῦ

25His sandals shall be iron and bronze; And as your days, so shall your strength be.

σίδηρος καὶ χαλκὸς τὸ ὑπόδημα αὐτοῦ ἔσται καὶ ὡς αἱ ἡμέραι σου ἡ ἰσχύς σου

26There is no one like the God of the Beloved, Who rides upon heaven and who is your help, And the Magnificent One of the firmament,

οὐκ ἔστιν ὥσπερ ὁ θεὸς τοῦ ἠγαπημένου ὁ ἐπιβαίνων ἐπὶ τὸν οὐρανὸν βοηθός σου καὶ ὁ μεγαλοπρεπὴς τοῦ στερεώματος

27And the Protection of the rule of God, And who is under the strength of the everlasting arms.

καὶ σκέπασις θεοῦ ἀρχῆς καὶ ὑπὸ ἰσχὺν βραχιόνων ἀενάων καὶ ἐκβαλεῖ ἀπὸ προσώπου σου ἐχθρὸν λέγων ἀπόλοιο

28He will cast out the enemy from before your face, Saying, 'Destroy.' Then Israel shall dwell in hope, Alone in the land of Jacob, With grain and wine; And heaven is cloudy with dew for him.

καὶ κατασκηνώσει Ισραηλ πεποιθὼς μόνος ἐπὶ γῆς Ιακωβ ἐπὶ σίτῳ καὶ οἴνῳ καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς αὐτῷ συννεφὴς δρόσῳ

29Blessed are you, O Israel. Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord. Your Helper will defend you as with a shield; And the sword shall be your boast. Your enemies shall speak falsely to you, And you shall tread on their neck.'

μακάριος σύ Ισραηλ τίς ὅμοιός σοι λαὸς σῳζόμενος ὑπὸ κυρίου ὑπερασπιεῖ ὁ βοηθός σου καὶ ἡ μάχαιρα καύχημά σου καὶ ψεύσονταί σε οἱ ἐχθροί σου καὶ σὺ ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν ἐπιβήσῃ
