Deuteronomy 16

1Observe the month of new corn, and keep Pascha to the Lord your God, for in the month of new corn He brought you out of Egypt by night.

φύλαξαι τὸν μῆνα τῶν νέων καὶ ποιήσεις τὸ πασχα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου ὅτι ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῶν νέων ἐξῆλθες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου νυκτός

2Therefore you shall sacrifice Pascha to the Lord your God from the sheep and oxen, in the place the Lord chooses for His name to be called upon there.

καὶ θύσεις τὸ πασχα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου πρόβατα καὶ βόας ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτὸν ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ

3You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, that is, the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste), that you may remember the day you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

οὐ φάγῃ ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ ζύμην ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας φάγῃ ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῦ ἄζυμα ἄρτον κακώσεως ὅτι ἐν σπουδῇ ἐξήλθετε ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἵνα μνησθῆτε τὴν ἡμέραν τῆς ἐξοδίας ὑμῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς ὑμῶν

4And no leaven shall be seen among you in all your borders for seven days, nor shall any of the meat you sacrifice the first day at twilight remain until morning.

οὐκ ὀφθήσεταί σοι ζύμη ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ὁρίοις σου ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας καὶ οὐ κοιμηθήσεται ἀπὸ τῶν κρεῶν ὧν ἐὰν θύσῃς τὸ ἑσπέρας τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ πρώτῃ εἰς τὸ πρωί

5You may not sacrifice Pascha within any of your cities the Lord your God gives you;

οὐ δυνήσῃ θῦσαι τὸ πασχα ἐν οὐδεμιᾷ τῶν πόλεών σου ὧν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι

6but at the place the Lord your God chooses for His name to be called upon there, there you shall sacrifice Pascha at twilight, at the going down of the sun, at the time you came out of Egypt.

ἀλλ᾿ ἢ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ θύσεις τὸ πασχα ἑσπέρας πρὸς δυσμὰς ἡλίου ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ᾧ ἐξῆλθες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου

7You shall roast and eat it in the place the Lord your God chooses, and in the morning you shall turn and go to your houses.

καὶ ἑψήσεις καὶ ὀπτήσεις καὶ φάγῃ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτόν καὶ ἀποστραφήσῃ τὸ πρωὶ καὶ ἀπελεύσῃ εἰς τοὺς οἴκους σου

8Six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh and final day, there shall be a feast to the Lord your God. You shall do no work on it except what must be done for life.

ἓξ ἡμέρας φάγῃ ἄζυμα καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ἐξόδιον ἑορτὴ κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου οὐ ποιήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ πᾶν ἔργον πλὴν ὅσα ποιηθήσεται ψυχῇ

9'You shall count seven complete weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain.

ἑπτὰ ἑβδομάδας ὁλοκλήρους ἐξαριθμήσεις σεαυτῷ ἀρξαμένου σου δρέπανον ἐπ᾿ ἀμητὸν ἄρξῃ ἐξαριθμῆσαι ἑπτὰ ἑβδομάδας

10Then you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God, and according to your ability you may offer whatever you wish, as the Lord your God blessed you.

καὶ ποιήσεις ἑορτὴν ἑβδομάδων κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου καθότι ἡ χείρ σου ἰσχύει ὅσα ἂν δῷ σοι καθότι ηὐλόγησέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου

11You shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and daughter, your male servant and female servant, the Levite who is within your cities, the resident alien and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the Lord your God chooses for His name to be called upon there.

καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου σὺ καὶ ὁ υἱός σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου καὶ ὁ Λευίτης ὁ ἐν ταῖς πόλεσίν σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος καὶ ὁ ὀρφανὸς καὶ ἡ χήρα ἡ ἐν ὑμῖν ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ

12And you shall remember you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and you shall be careful to observe these commandments.

καὶ μνησθήσῃ ὅτι οἰκέτης ἦσθα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ φυλάξῃ καὶ ποιήσεις τὰς ἐντολὰς ταύτας

13'You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles seven days, when you have gathered from your threshing floor and winepress.

ἑορτὴν σκηνῶν ποιήσεις σεαυτῷ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἐν τῷ συναγαγεῖν σε ἐκ τοῦ ἅλωνός σου καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ληνοῦ σου

14You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and daughter, your male servant and female servant, the Levite, the resident alien, the fatherless and the widow who are within your cities.

καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ σου σὺ καὶ ὁ υἱός σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ὁ παῖς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου καὶ ὁ Λευίτης καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος καὶ ὁ ὀρφανὸς καὶ ἡ χήρα ἡ οὖσα ἐν ταῖς πόλεσίν σου

15Seven days you shall keep a feast to the Lord your God in the place the Lord your God chooses for Himself, and if the Lord your God should bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, you will be rejoicing.

ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἑορτάσεις κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτῷ ἐὰν δὲ εὐλογήσῃ σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς γενήμασίν σου καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ τῶν χειρῶν σου καὶ ἔσῃ εὐφραινόμενος

16Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God in the place the Lord chooses; at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before the Lord your God empty-handed.

τρεῖς καιροὺς τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ὀφθήσεται πᾶν ἀρσενικόν σου ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ᾧ ἐὰν ἐκλέξηται αὐτὸν κύριος ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ τῶν ἀζύμων καὶ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ τῶν ἑβδομάδων καὶ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ τῆς σκηνοπηγίας οὐκ ὀφθήσῃ ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου κενός

17Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing the Lord your God gave you.

ἕκαστος κατὰ δύναμιν τῶν χειρῶν ὑμῶν κατὰ τὴν εὐλογίαν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἣν ἔδωκέν σοι

18'You shall appoint judges and teachers in all the cities the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

κριτὰς καὶ γραμματοεισαγωγεῖς καταστήσεις σεαυτῷ ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσίν σου αἷς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι κατὰ φυλάς καὶ κρινοῦσιν τὸν λαὸν κρίσιν δικαίαν

19They shall not pervert judgment; they shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe; for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

οὐκ ἐκκλινοῦσιν κρίσιν οὐκ ἐπιγνώσονται πρόσωπον οὐδὲ λήμψονται δῶρον τὰ γὰρ δῶρα ἐκτυφλοῖ ὀφθαλμοὺς σοφῶν καὶ ἐξαίρει λόγους δικαίων

20You shall pursue what is altogether just, that you may live and go in and inherit the land the Lord your God gives you.

δικαίως τὸ δίκαιον διώξῃ ἵνα ζῆτε καὶ εἰσελθόντες κληρονομήσητε τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι

21'You shall not plant for yourself any grove or any tree near the altar of the Lord your God which you build for yourself.

οὐ φυτεύσεις σεαυτῷ ἄλσος πᾶν ξύλον παρὰ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ὃ ποιήσεις σεαυτῷ

22You shall not set up a pillar the Lord your God hates.

οὐ στήσεις σεαυτῷ στήλην ἃ ἐμίσησεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου
