Zechariah 5

1I turned and looked up, and behold a flying sickle.

καὶ ἐπέστρεψα καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δρέπανον πετόμενον

2And he said to me, 'What do you see?' And I said, 'I see a flying sickle, twenty cubits in length by ten cubits wide.'

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με τί σὺ βλέπεις καὶ εἶπα ἐγὼ ὁρῶ δρέπανον πετόμενον μῆκος πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ πλάτος πήχεων δέκα

3And he said to me, 'This is the curse going out over the face of the whole earth, for every thief on this side shall be punished with death, and everyone on that side who swears falsely shall be punished by death.'

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με αὕτη ἡ ἀρὰ ἡ ἐκπορευομένη ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς διότι πᾶς ὁ κλέπτης ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἐπίορκος ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται

4'And I will bring it forth,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and it shall enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall settle in the midst of his house and destroy it, both its timber and its stones.'

καὶ ἐξοίσω αὐτό λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κλέπτου καὶ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ὀμνύοντος τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ καταλύσει ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ συντελέσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ ξύλα αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς λίθους αὐτοῦ

5And the angel who was talking to me came out and said to me, 'Look up and see this that is going forth.'

καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἰδὲ τί τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον τοῦτο

6And I said, 'What is it?' And he said, 'This is the measuring basket that goes forth.' And he said, 'This is their wrongdoing in all the land.'

καὶ εἶπα τί ἐστιν καὶ εἶπεν τοῦτο τὸ μέτρον τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον καὶ εἶπεν αὕτη ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ

7And behold, a talent of lead was being lifted up, and behold one woman sat in the midst of the measuring basket.

καὶ ἰδοὺ τάλαντον μολίβου ἐξαιρόμενον καὶ ἰδοὺ μία γυνὴ ἐκάθητο ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ μέτρου

8And he said, 'This is lawlessness.' And he threw it into the midst of the measure, and he threw the lead weight into the mouth of it.

καὶ εἶπεν αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀνομία καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὴν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ μέτρου καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν λίθον τοῦ μολίβου εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς

9Then I looked up to see, and behold two women going forth, and the wind was in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork, and they took up the measuring basket into the air between heaven and earth.

καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο γυναῖκες ἐκπορευόμεναι καὶ πνεῦμα ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτῶν καὶ αὗται εἶχον πτέρυγας ὡς πτέρυγας ἔποπος καὶ ἀνέλαβον τὸ μέτρον ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ

10And I asked the angel speaking to me, 'For what reason do they carry this basket for measuring?'

καὶ εἶπα πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοί ποῦ αὗται ἀποφέρουσιν τὸ μέτρον

11And he said to me, 'To prepare and to build a place for it in the land of Babylon. They will place it there upon its own place.'

καὶ εἶπεν πρός με οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἰκίαν ἐν γῇ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἑτοιμάσαι καὶ θήσουσιν αὐτὸ ἐκεῖ ἐπὶ τὴν ἑτοιμασίαν αὐτοῦ
