Epistle

1 Thessalonians 1:6–10

Open Reader ↗

6And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

7so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.

8For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.

9For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

10and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Epistle

Galatians 5:22–6:2

Open Reader ↗

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

1Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

2Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Gospel

Luke 17:26–37

Open Reader ↗

26And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

27They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

28Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

29but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

30Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

31'In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

32Remember Lot's wife.

33Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

34I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.

35Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.

36Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.'

37And they answered and said to Him, 'Where, Lord?' So He said to them, 'Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.'

Gospel

Matthew 11:27–30

Open Reader ↗

27All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

28Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'
