16So the Lord said to Moses, 'Gather to Me seventy men from the elders of Israel, whom you yourself know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of testimony, so they may stand there with you.

17Then I will descend and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit upon you and put Him upon them; and they shall help you bear the wrath of the people, that you yourself may not bear them alone.

18Then you shall say to the people, 'Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept before the Lord, saying, 'Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.' Therefore the Lord will give you meat to eat, and you shall eat.

19You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,

20but for a whole month you shall eat, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you disobeyed the Lord, who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying, 'Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?' ' '

21Then Moses said, 'The people I am among are six hundred thousand men on foot; yet You are saying, 'I will give them meat, so they may eat for a whole month.'

22Shall sheep and oxen be slaughtered for them, to provide enough for them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to provide enough for them?'

23Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Is the Lord's hand unable to provide for them? Now you shall know whether or not My word will overtake you.'

24So Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord; and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle.

25Then the Lord descended in the cloud and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit upon him, and put Him upon the seventy men of the elders; and when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, although they never did so again.

26But two men remained in the camp: the name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other, Medad, and the Spirit rested upon them. Now they were among those registered, but had not come to the tabernacle; yet they prophesied in the camp.

27So a young man ran and told Moses, and said, 'Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.'

28Then Joshua the son of Nun, who was near Moses, one of his choice men, answered and said, 'Lord Moses, forbid them.'

29Then Moses said to him, 'Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord's people might be prophets, when the Lord would put His Spirit upon them.'

23And you children of Zion, be glad and rejoice in the Lord your God, for He gives food that is right for you, and He will shower you as before with the early and the late rain.

24The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the presses of wine and olive oil will overflow.

25'And I will restore to you the years the grasshopper and the locust have eaten, and for the blight, and the caterpillar, even for My great army, which I sent against you.

26You will eat abundantly and be satisfied and will praise the name of the Lord your God for what He has so wondrously done unto you. And My people will not be put to shame forever.

27Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel; that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other but Me. And at no time will My people be put to shame forever.

28'After this it shall come to pass that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

29And in those days I shall pour out My Spirit on My servants and on My handmaids.

30And I shall give wonders in the heavens and upon the earth, blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

31The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes to pass.

32And it shall be that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord Himself said, and there shall be proclamation of the good news to those whom the Lord Himself called.

24For I will take you from among the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your land.

25I shall sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be cleansed from all your uncleanness, and I will also cleanse you from all your idols.

26I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I shall take the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

27I shall put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My requirements, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

28You will dwell in the land I gave to your fathers. You will be My people, and I shall be your God.

19Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'

20When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

21So Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'

22And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.

23If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.'

1When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

6And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

7Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, 'Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?

8And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

9Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

11Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.'

37On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

38He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'

39But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

40Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, 'Truly this is the Prophet.'

41Others said, 'This is the Christ.'

42But some said, 'Will the Christ come out of Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?'

43So there was a division among the people because of Him.

44Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

45Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, 'Why have you not brought Him?'

46The officers answered, 'No man ever spoke like this Man!'

47Then the Pharisees answered them, 'Are you also deceived?

48Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him?

49But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.'

50Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,

51'Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?'

52They answered and said to him, 'Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.'

53And everyone went to his own house.

1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

3Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,

4they said to Him, 'Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.

5Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?'

6This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

7So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.'

8And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, 'Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?'

11She said, 'No one, Lord.'

12And Jesus said to her, 'Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.' Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'
