Philippians 2:12–16
12Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
14Do all things without complaining and disputing,
15that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
Gospel
Luke 9:18–22
18And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, 'Who do the crowds say that I am?'
19So they answered and said, 'John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.'
20He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?'
21And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, Peter answered and said, 'The Christ of God.'
22saying, 'The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.'
